On 27th November, the BBVA Foundation announced the results of the 2023 call for the Prismas and Problems Programme. Out of the 258 projects submitted, the project led by Marisol Lila (Principal Investigator) and the team formed by Faraj A. Santirso, Cristina Expósito Álvarez, Manuel Roldán Pardo, Raquel Conchell, Viviana Vargas, and Elena Terreros is one of the 11 selected.
The project, titled "Professionals in the intervention with men who perpetrate gender-based violence: a comparative analysis of needs and challenges (PROF-VG)", has secured funding of €140,989.20 and will be developed over the next two years. The project focuses on identifying and assessing the needs and challenges faced by professionals who work with perpetrators of gender-based violence in Croatia, Spain, Portugal, and other European countries.
This initiative stems from the need to improve the effectiveness of interventions and adapt them to the cultural context of each country, thus contributing to the development of European standards for working with perpetrators. Furthermore, a good practice guide will be developed, aimed at optimising intervention strategies and providing resources that address the real needs of facilitators of intervention groups. With all of this, this project selected by the BBVA Foundation aims to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of intervention programmes with perpetrators at a European level, thus helping to prevent gender-based violence across Europe.
